Clash of Clans until now is still one of the most common games on smartphones. While it’s widely-played by millions of people, there are still a number of problems and bugs, especially occurring on Apple devices and older Samsung and LG phones. From glitches, games crashing, bugs when downloading content, to unable to install updates at all. And now, the latest problem is a weird UI on Galaxy S10 devices.
Every few updates still have its own breaks. If you are not able to install the latest summer update, it means your device is not supported. In case you are encountering other problems, read on this post to get some quick tips.
When visiting the official Supercell Clash of Clans forum, you can see a full of new reports, bugs of Builder Hall 9, Otto Hut. And the latest Operation Blue Skies are even causing problems and confusion as well. Supercell will quickly roll out an update in the next few weeks.
How To Fix June 2019 Clash of Clans Problems
The biggest release update was the Summer 2019 update, also known as the June update. Although it includes a ton of new content, there are also more in-app purchases, as well as limits to using hammers. Aside from that, there are problems, long wait times or clouds for anyone who was trying to battle. Supercell fixed the clouds, but players are still encountering 30 minute wait times.
While the developer is well aware of these problems, the list of issues is still growing in the coming days as more players install this latest Summer update. We have also been witnessing a number of issues with the daily league and “practice” modes. In addition, the game does not work on Bluestacks, so if you are using PC, you are out of luck. There are also problems with the Amazon Fire tablet and even other devices that are not iOS or Android devices.
Some users have also reported that they could not play the game on their Sony Xperia phones or tablets, build times still remaining even after they paid for boosts and the Gold Pass and especially, the weird interface on Pixel 3 XL and Galaxy S10 models. The support of Supercell for the “notch” is not good and needs to be fixed in the future. We thought they could fix the S10 interface in this update, but nope.
If any of you do not receive the update, simply open Play Store/App Store (Android or iOS), refresh it and then get the latest update. Follow these steps if you are having problems.
- Supercell ID not working problem: you should close apps running in the background. Relaunch Clash of Clans.
- Update not visible in App stores: Go to App Stores > Updates, swipe down the page, and it will “force” the update or make it visible.
Other big complaints about Clash of Clans are Clan Wars missing, Supercell ID, or connectivity problems. A few older iPhone models like iPhone cannot play at all. The best solution here is to check for another update on the app store when there was one released on June 20th, including fixes for the most recent update. After that, visit Clash problems forum for further help.
Clash of Clans is Not Supported on iOS
If you have played the Clash for years or were trying to return for Town Hall 12, you can see your old iPhone, iPad no longer supported.
To play Clash of Clans, your phone must be running on iOS 9.0 or later. If your iDevice is running on iOS 8, or older, you cannot update and play the game. Supercell advises iOS users to install the latest version from Apple or buy a newer iPhone/iPad. Unfortunately, there is no way around this. If you are using iPhone 4, we have to say sorry. Visit here for more info.
Clash of Clans Not Supporting iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro & Galaxy S10
Last year, Supercell finally rolled out a quick update for Clash of Clans that supports iPhone X. But, the screen size is still a problem with the iPhone Xs Max, iPad Pro, and the new Galaxy S10 models. Although the game works perfectly fine on Apple devices, with the notch and new aspect ratios, some players don’t like “zoomed-out” look. So, to fix it, just get the latest update to solve the game for iPhone XS/ XS Max and iPad Pro users.
However, the same problem still appears on Android if your phone comes with a notch in the screen. Whatever Supercell made the screen look funny, many Galaxy users are still waiting for a fix.
Clash of Clans: Not Loading (Black Screen)
Are you dealing with the Black screen when loading Clash of Clans on your phone? It does not load, there is no sound and it’s just black. You are not alone since many players have encountered this problem for months.
Until now, there is not an easy fix for the Clash black screen issue. Some Android users suggested long-pressing the Clash icon, pulling it to the top of the screen, and choosing “App Info”. Basically, you can head to Settings > Apps > Clash and Force Close it. Doing so will shut down the game, and it works in the next time you open the game.
The only solution here is to reboot your phone, while it isn’t ideal. Some players are still having crashes.
Unable To Update Clash of Clans
A common that we are seeing many complaints about is Clan users could not install Clash of Clans updates, mainly on iOS devices. To find out more tips about Clash on iOS, simply visit here. You can also try to clear the cache on the Google Play Store and App Store.
The most reason that you are unable to install the Clash of Clans update is your iPhone is running on an outdated version that is no longer supported. From the June 2018, Clash of Clans updates no longer worked on iOS 9.0 and lower.
If you are using iPhone/iPad, you can try uninstalling Clash of Clans and then reinstalling it. After that, log in Game Center again to restore your entire village to your iPhone/iPad using your Apple ID, or Supercell ID account. Make sure to save it first so that you can restore the game again, otherwise you could potentially lose your own thing, which is awful.
You can save your village on iCloud, Supercell ID or Google Play Games, and then uninstall it. After re-installing Clash of Clans, you will have the latest version. Simply restore your village and enjoy it.
If you are using Android, open Play Store and tap on the refresh icon. If you still don’t see the update, just reboot your device to remove the cache.
Clash of Clans Problems With Galaxy Devices
An update released a few months ago caused major problems for Samsung Galaxy users and it is still happening on older devices and the new Galaxy S10 models until now. While the latest recent update adds support for Galaxy Note 9, and other new mid-range models, the April update ruined the game for the Galaxy S10.
Those who cannot load Clash of Clan or the freezes halfway, you can try clearing the cache and then re-installing it. There is also a similar crash or bug on older LG smartphone models. Remember to back up your game data before uninstalling it, to restore your village and progress. You can also take advantage of Supercell ID system. Just navigate to Settings > Apps > All Apps > find Clash of Clans and tap on clear cache. Then, reboot your phone and update the game and play it.
On Galaxy S10 models, the game is zoomed out too far, and you might see the buttons on the edges of the screen. The game wraps around the cutout, and NOT optimized. Additionally, there are weird gaps on both sides of the screen, everything looks bad in the chat menu. Even in the latest update in June 2019, Supercell has not fixed this yet.
The resolution is for this problem on Galaxy devices is extremely low. It’s a known problem due to a feature. So, if you having the same trouble, you should download Samsung’s Game Tuner app, and Game Services to solve the problem in settings. You should change graphics to max if possible, and set it at 60 fps.
Clash of Clans: “Downloading Content” Bug
Another big problem in Clash of Clan update is the “downloading content” error for players. This pop-up was started four years ago, but every few months it started creeping up again. It’s a headache problem since it wastes users monthly data limits. Here are two potential ways to solve the problem.
- Close Clash and Clans and change the way you connect to the internet
- Reboot your device to reset your internet connection
- Reconnect to the game by using a different internet connection
A few months ago, the January update released notes, stating that they patched a number of bugs, enhanced performance, as well as fixed the downloading content bug. Although Supercell claimed that update got fixed a while ago, it’s occurring again in June. If you still see “downloading content” popup on the screen, let’s know in the comment below.
There are common problems with Clash of Clans. We’ll update more issues and fixes in this post later.
