Apple’s new mobile operating system (iOS 7) is a great improvement over previous versions with lot of great features but when it comes to protecting your privacy, there are some things that need to be change. The new Frequent Locations feature for example. As explained in the iOS 7 Settings, this Frequent Locations allows your iPhone to learn places you frequently visit in order to provide useful location-related information. By default, iOS 7 will track and record places that you visit most often and storing that information in an easily readable format. But If you value your privacy more than the location-based data, you can turn the feature off. Turning off features like these can also help save a bit of data plan and battery life too.
HOW TO DEACTIVATE iOS 7 FREQUENT LOCATION TRACKING ?
You have to go deep into the settings, don’t worry, is just a simple task, just follow the bellow steps and you are good to go
- Navigate to Settings.
- Tap on Privacy.
- Now click on Location Services at the top.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on System Services.
- Scroll down to the bottom again and click on Frequent Locations.
- Then switch the Frequent Locations option to the Off position as you can see in the picture bellow.
That’s all, now all Locations you go to frequently will no longer be tracked which now preserves your privacy and that is more important or Do you like the idea of your iPhone remembering where you’ve been? , then you can leave the feature ON.
