How To Fix Not Registered On Network On Galaxy Phones

A common error that many Galaxy users deal with when making a call or text is “Samsung not registered on network”. Since your current Service Provider could not be modified of your IMEI number, you will see this error on a pop-up “not registered on a network” on the screen. However, you should not worry, as we will be sharing with you solutions to “Android not registered on a network” problem.

This error occurs due to the software not being up to date, and your phone might be running on the earlier software. This common problem usually occurs with Galaxy devices from T-Mobile, AT&T, Vodafone, Airtel, Rogers, Virgin carriers. Also, if your device is locked to a carrier, it may also appear such error.

Solutions To Fix Samsung Galaxy Not Registered On Network

Method 1:

First, you need to ensure you are connected to a Wireless connection:

  1. Prepare your Galaxy device ready
  2. Insert the SIM card in your phone
  3. Head over to Settings app
  4. Scroll down to the bottom
  5. Tap on About Phone > Software Update
  6. If there is an update available, wait for your phone to complete the update

Method 2

Another solution that many Galaxy users successfully solved the error by following this method below. If it doesn’t work at the first attempt, try it again.

  1. Power your phone off by holding the Power + Home (Bixby) buttons in conjunction.
  2. Once it is off, wait for around 2 minutes.
  3. After that, remove the battery if possible as well as the SIM card from your phone
  4. Press the Power button + Home (Bixby) button for 10 consecutive times.
  5. Afterwards, hold both keys for about 1-3 minutes.
  6. Next, insert your SIM card and the battery into your phone again
  7. Power on your Galaxy phone
  8. Once your phone is on, remove the SIM card, re-insert it and then repeat this five times
  9. There will be a message appearing on the screen, saying that you have to “Restart your Phone”. Simply, tap on it.
  10. Finally, your Samsung galaxy should boot up with no errors.

Method 3

If none of the above methods works, then the problem comes from your SIM Card.

Trying a different SIM card can fix the problem as it worked for most people.

Method 4

Update your APN Settings is also a good solution for this error. To do so, tap on Mobile Network > Access Point Names > Menu under Wireless & Networks. Select from the Home key > New and then enter the APN settings for your carrier.

If you are using the T-Mobile network, you need to enter the following command:

For those who are using other carriers, you should contact your carrier for further assistance.

Method 5

Head to Settings app on your phone, and then tap on Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators. Next, choose your own network.

Method 6

Samsung Galaxy not registered on network” error might occur since the SIM card was not put correctly, which caused your mobile network not to be available and appeared error for the network.

Note: This method is only available for Galaxy devices that can remove the battery

  1. Tap on Mobile network settings in Settings.
  2. When you are in mobile settings, hold the Power + Home buttons altogether until your phone powers off.
  3. Once your Galaxy is off, remove the battery if possible.
  4. Press the Power + Home buttons altogether for 10 seconds.
  5. Then, press and hold both buttons for 1-2 minutes and it will drain all static charges.
  6. Insert your battery into your phone now.
  7. Power up your Samsung Galaxy device with the SIM Card.
  8. Do not put the back cover yet.
  9. When your phone is on, you should then remove and insert the SIM card 3 times. (Some Galaxy devices require you to remove the battery before taking out the sim card. If it’s the issue, please skip this step)
  10. You will then be asked to reboot your device.
  11. After restarting your phone and you will no longer see an error when searching for a network.

If this method did not help you, you should insert SIM card to access network services.

Note: If you tap on the update from Settings, and it says “No Firmware Found”, you need to update your device via Kies software on your computer.
