How to troubleshoot iPhone XR with call failed error

Problems with outgoing calls are not always attributed to software errors. Many iPhone users who have had trouble with making phone calls, could resolve the problem without doing a single troubleshooting method. Instead, they checked on the following:

  • Account and service status:

Problematic accounts will be disabled outgoing services by network service providers/carriers. The main causes are from account security issues and billing issues. If outgoing services are disabled, making phone calls will not be possible. To fix this, you should contact your carrier to check that your account is still in good condition and outgoing services are still active.

  • Network signal indicator (signal bars).

There are at least 2 stable bars for network services to work properly. So, if your iPhone is suffering a weak or poor signal, it could lead to calling and texting issues. In this case, you should move to another location that has a stronger network signal. If possible, you should stay away from network signal barriers like tall buildings, or other places with signal interference.

  • Network outages.

Another possible reason what you suffer the poor network signal or no signal is network outages. They can occur due to scheduled network system maintenance on your network service provider. All you can do at that time is to wait until the outage goes away and the network services return.

If you still cannot make phone calls on your iPhone XR even when the network signal is good, and no network outages, you should try the following solutions.
