Cool Tricks for FaceID on iPhone X

The fingerprint scanner has officially been removed from iPhone X by Apple. Instead, it’s the appearance of the new unlock method, named FaceID. Apple has stated that the FaceID was very secure, not only unlocking the device, but also making payments through services easily. So in this post today, we will show you the cool tricks of FaceID for iPhone X.

Many iPhone X users have said that the Face ID works very well. Although it’s is a little slower than Touch ID, it comes with the convenience factor. For the new iPhone X users, you should try out some of the awesome Face ID tricks for your iPhone X.

  1. Enhance Face ID Speed

As mentioned, the biggest concern with Face ID comes from that it might be on the slow side. So, it can be really annoying for a number of users. But you can also improve the speed of the unlock process by disabling ‘Require Attention for Face iD’ on your device. To do so, just head to Settings -> Face ID & Passcode -> and turn Require Attention for Face ID off.

Although it will increase the speed of the unlock process, it also compromises on security. So, you should be careful when using this feature. Your iPhone will automatically unlock even if you don’t look at the phone and your eyes are closed.

  1. Use Face ID for Notification Previews

It’s a great feature for the Face ID you should try. If there is not any notification, you won’t be able to preview them until you unlock the device. To enable this feature, simply head to Settings -> Notifications -> Show Previews and tap on ‘When Unlocked’.

This will make things easier that looking at your iPhone X will make Face ID detect your face and the previews will appear on the screen without doing anything.

  1. Enable /Disable Attention Aware Features

Face ID comes with a great feature called ‘Attention Aware’ and it helps you so much, especially when waking up in the morning. The TrueDepth camera system will first check your attention before it lowers the alert volume. So, when the alarm rings in the morning, it will then sense when you look at the screen and automatically lower the volume.

It can be enabled or disabled at your discretion by navigating to Settings -> Face ID & Passcode -> Attention Aware Features and toggle it on.

  1. Purchase Apps with Face ID

Beyond unlocking the phone, FaceID is also secure enough to carry out the transactions on the App Store or Apple Pay. You can bypass entering your Apple ID and password when purchasing an app/game with FaceID. All you have to do is looking at the iPhone to purchase something.

To activate  Face ID for iTunes and App Store purchases,  you need to head to Settings -> Face ID & Passcode -> iTunes & App Store and enable it.

  1. Limit Third Party Apps

Face ID data can be used by the third party developers or the apps. This might affect to your private data. So, if you want to stop some certain apps from using your Face ID, you can do it by going to Settings -> Face ID & Passcode -> Other Apps. From there, disable Face ID for the app you want by toggling the slider to off.
