Is no news that Whatsapp has announced it would no longer support some smartphone by the end of the year, the reason being that these mobile platforms wouldn’t have the capabilities needed to makes the app compatible as they will be rolling out more amazing features. This is to ensure all platforms are compatible with new features to be rolled out in the future.
- WhatsApp will end support for some older mobile operating system later this year
- List includes Android 2.2, iOS 6, Windows Phone 7 and older versions
- BlackBerry and Nokia Symbian users have till June 2017 to upgrade
While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future, claimed Whatsapp in their offical release.
