The meaning of the features in each colomn ;
- Cores: When it comes to running lots of programs together, a core can be thought of as in individual processor. A dual-core processor, therefore has two internal processors, a quad-core model has four. So more cores are useful for multi-tasking. lets take for example, running two applications at the same time, each one will have access to its own dedicated processor.
- Hyper-Threading : Hyper-Threading is Intel’s technology for creating two logical cores in each physical core.It allows each core to divide its time between two different jobs. This can help keep things responsive when you have lots of processes running at once – but it doesn’t give your CPU any more actual computing power which means, to your operating system it appears as though your CPU has double the number of cores than it really does but It’s not as fast as extra ‘real’ cores, but it’s an improvement over a single Core.
- Turbo Boost : Turbo Boost is Intel’s technology for automatically overclocking a processor, boosting its clock speed higher than the default setting. The CPU monitors its temperature and, when it’s running cool enough, will apply the overclock. Core i5 and i7 CPUs have this technology, Core i3 models do not.
- GPU ( Graphics Chip): Intel’s on-chip graphics processor comes in a variety of configurations. The basic HD Graphics 4200 GPU is fine for desktop tasks; higher numbers reflect more processing power, meaning better performance in 3D games and GPU-accelerated tasks such as video encoding. but note that intel chip generally are not that too good for gaming because they wouldn’t give high resolution.
- K Models : Any CPU that has a model ending with a K means that it the CPU is unlocked. This means that you can use BIOS settings to up the clock speed of the chip, overclocking it yourself.
Note : Core i7 processor designed for laptops is different from a desktop model. fortunately, you can identify what sort of chip you’re dealing with by checking for a suffix after the model number – the Core i5-4200U, for example, is a part intended for Ultrabooks.
