HOW TO ALWAYS START GOOGLE CHROME AND IE IN PRIVATE BROWSING MODE

Using Private Browsing Mode prevent your browser from saving your browsing sessions’s private data which include browsing history, searches, visited sites, cookies and the likes.

Have earlier discussed ; HOW TO MAKE FIREFOX BROWSER START IN PRIVATE WINDOW ALWAYS but due to some request i received from Google Chrome and IE ( Internet Explorer ) users to discuss this same issue on their favorite browser, that is why i took the action to satisfy my dear reader by bringing to you today, How To Always Start Google Chrome and IE On Private Browsing .

Without talking much, let me start with Google Chrome.

HOW TO START GOOGLE CHROME IN PRIVATE BROWSING

Unlike Firefox, the features that let you let you browse the internet without saving any information of your browsing session like password, history and so on where the bookmarks and files saved on your computer will be intact which is Private Window but in Google Chrome, the feature is Incognito.

To use Google Chrome’s incognito mode, Locate the settings icon at the right side of the address bar ( In red circle as shown in the shot bellow) , click on it and select “new incognito window” ( In green circle as shown in the shot bellow ). Or simply press Ctrl + Shift + N on your keyboard.

You will see a welcome message;

You’ve gone incognito. Pages you view in this window won’t appear in your browser history or search history, and they won’t leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved.

 

 

Then you can now start your private browsing session in the window.

HOW TO ALWAYS START GOOGLE CHROME IN PRIVATE BROWSING

To always start Google Chrome in incognito mode, locate the shortcut you use to launch Google Chrome ( either on your Desktop, Start menu or taskbar ), right click on it (right click on it again if it’s on task bar) and select “Properties” , it will brings a page exactly as shown bellow , under the shortcut tab, add -incognito (that’s 11 character, space follow by hyphen, and then the word incognito) to the end of the Target box. then click OK .

Google Chrome will now start in incognito mode anytime you launch the browser via this shortcut you modified but if use other shortcuts to launch Google Chrome, you will need to modify them also to always start in Incognito mode.

HOW TO START INTERNET EXPLORER ( IE ) IN PRIVATE BROWSING

As Private Window is for Firefox, Incognito for Google , So is InPrivate is also for IE.

To enter InPrivate mode, click on safety at the right side of the address bar ( In red circle as shown in the bellow shot ), then select “InPrivate Browsing” (In green circle as shown in the shot) or simply press Ctrl + Shift + P on your keyboard.

You will see a welcome message ;

InPrivate Browsing helps prevent Internet Explorer from storing data about your browsing session. This includes cookies, temporary Internet files, history, and other data. Toolbars and extensions are disabled by default. See Help for more information.

To turn off InPrivate Browsing, close this browser window.

 

You can now start your private browsing session in the window.

HOW TO ALWAYS START INTERNET EXPLORER ( IE ) IN PRIVATE BROWSING

To always start IE in InPrivate mode, is almost as the same as that of Google Chrome, locate the shortcut you use to launch Internet Explorer ( either on your Desktop, Start menu or taskbar ), right click on it (right click on it again if it’s on task bar) and select “Properties” it will brings a page exactly as shown bellow , under the shortcut tab, add -private (that’s 9 character, space follow by hyphen, and then the word private) to the end of the Target box. then click OK .

IE ( Internet Explorer ) will now start in InPrivate mode anytime you launch the browser via this shortcut you modified but if use other shortcuts to launch Internet Explorer, you will need to modify them also to always start in InPrivate mode.

Note ; Your browser won’t be able to remember or save any of your browsing session data but If you want to undo any of these changes, you can modify the shortcuts again and remove the worda you added.
